How to refine your job search

If your job search hasn't found what you were looking for, we have plenty of ways to refine your search. With new vacancies listed all the time, it's worth taking another look to make sure you haven't missed the job of your dreams.

Here are some of the ways to refine your job search, and how they will affect the results you are shown:

Keyword search

Just type in the most common job title for the type of role you're interested in. Our search function will look through all of our current vacancies to see if we have something that seems like a good fit.

Search results are sorted in order of best match, so if we have a result that's spot-on you'll see it first. If we have vacancies that don't perfectly match the keywords you entered, but still feel relevant, you'll see those further down the page.

Location search

If you're keen to work in a specific town, city or area, enter this into the search box and we'll prioritise results based on their distance from that location.

Again, if a job is relevant and is located nearby to the location you entered, it will still be shown further down the results, so you won't miss opportunities just because they would involve a short commute.

Salary

Got financial commitments you need to continue to meet - or an idea of the pay you're looking for in your next job? Our salary search allows you to hone down your results to display only those that pay you what you want or need.

If you're not seeing many results, consider widening your salary range. Many employers offer an impressive range of benefits such as company cars, healthcare plans and extra annual leave, all of which can make a job worth much more than just the basic salary.

Combining search criteria

If you enter a job title, location and salary, we'll show you our best matches for all of those criteria at once. However, remember that the more specific your search, the fewer relevant results will be available.

Because of this, it's sometimes good to start with a broader search to see what comes up. You can then refine your search to give you a shortlist of possibilities, rather than sifting through hundreds of results.

Likewise if you're not seeing as many results as you expected, try running your search again with less specific criteria. While we can't guarantee to have exactly what you're looking for, we list a lot of vacancies and a slightly wider search might be all that's needed.

Browse for jobs

If you can't find anything of interest using our search tool, you can also browse a full listing of our current opportunities in several specialist areas. This can be an excellent way to see what's out there, especially following a shift in the economy.
