Business Development Manager

The successful candidate will have the following accountability in the role; P & L Responsibility - development and execution of the P & L and Budgets for leading multiples across all categories; Budget management and development; Ensure targets are met as a minimum with a plan to over-achieve; Devise and communicate a strategy for key clients consistent with the overall strategy; Present and agree strategy, internally and with key clients; Define and manage investment priorities across all categories; Make recommendations for exploring new business opportunities with key clients; Review progress regularly against strategic goals with key clients and internally; Work with the Commercial Manager to develop a 12 month account plan, to include targets for revenue, margin %, profit, growth, franchise, range, display, operational & administration improvements, co-op investments, and return on investment; Support the Commercial Manager in setting out format or category-specific plans; Work with Customer contacts, Trade Marketing, Operations/ISSC, category leads, retail analytics, and other key stakeholders, to implement agreed plans; Operate within specified standards; Keep sales administration and account files up to date and accurate; Manage key accounts in line with trade investment agreement - reporting internally & to the Customer on payment; Ensure Home Entertainment trade spend is managed through the internal system, and deals are entered in the system accurately, on time; Regular use of micro-strategy system, for sales reports and ROI analysis; Lead account forecasting process for defined account.110000103664

Who we're looking for
Graduate calibre, with good commercial understanding of business; Experience in managing a major Customer in a commercial function with direct P&L responsibility essential; Blue-chip background preferred; Experience of setting up senior Customer relationships preferred; Experience of developing and delivering account plan preferred; Experience of working in multi-level matrix relationship environment, in a multinational organisation preferred; Good communication & influencing skills; Good level of numeracy and PC skills; Good negotiation skills; Results-orientated approach; Effecting planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task; Team player, motivated, ambitious; Clarity and understanding of consumer marketing, category management and negotiation; Interpersonal and organisational sensitivity in a matrix structure; Ownership Customer issues.
