Job Description

  • Execute entity accounting activities such as, but not limited to, general accounting closing activities (i.e. journal entry and account reconciliation reviews)
  • Analyze account variances and determine corrective actions necessary
  • Calculate tax provisions for assigned entities and assist in completion of other tax-related activities
  • Review/Monitor contracts to ensure appropriate accounting
  • Assist in the execution of specific controls within accounting processes and other general accounting activities
  • Ensure compliance of R2R operations with company policies, processes and internal controls
  • Monitor GL master and identify/approve new GL requirements
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations/deadlines
  • Manage data requests from stakeholders (internal and external) during internal and external audits (US GAAP and statutory audits)
  • Conduct ad-hoc tasks per management requests
  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership, and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely manner
  • Manage team of accountants conducting GL accounting activities for assigned entities
  • Monitor workload of GL Accountants and escalate issues to Regional Accounting Manager as necessary
  • Manage the team performance and ensure delivery of timely output as per the SLAs
  • Motivate, empower and develop team members

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounting Team Lead should have:

  • 5+ years' experience in a relevant finance and/or cost accounting role, preferably in a GBS environment
  • Prior SAP Experience (S4 or ECC) is a plus
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or similar
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the industrial/manufacturing industry
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and standards local and US
