Job Description

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
  • Support audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor queries.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax-related documents as required.
  • Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate reporting and process improvements.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities as part of the accounting team.

The Successful Applicant

A successful GL Accountant should have:

  • A recognised qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the FMCG industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate financial records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.
