This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, support strategic client relationships and play a key role in strengthening the firm's in-house tax capability.
Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Irish Tax Advisor to join a growing international professional services organisation on a flexible part-time basis.
Working closely with senior leadership and client-facing teams, you will act as the organisation's internal tax specialist, providing expertise across Irish Corporation Tax, VAT compliance, tax registrations and related accounting matters. The role offers a unique blend of technical tax work, stakeholder engagement and commercial exposure, making it ideal for an experienced tax professional seeking flexibility whilst remaining involved in a varied and impactful position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on Irish Corporation Tax, VAT and Payroll Tax matters.
- Prepare and review Irish Corporation Tax returns and related filings.
- Oversee VAT and VIES return preparation and submission.
- Support clients with Irish tax and VAT registrations.
- Respond to tax-related queries from internal teams and external clients.
- Review client financial statements and assist with accounting-related matters.
- Support company secretarial activities where tax considerations arise.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute technical expertise where required.
- Assist with new client onboarding and broader business development initiatives.
- Monitor developments in Irish tax legislation and compliance requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to become a trusted technical adviser within the business while helping to strengthen and develop the organisation's tax capability in Ireland.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be a qualified Irish tax professional and/or accountant with strong technical expertise across Irish Corporation Tax and VAT, coupled with the commercial awareness to operate effectively within a client-focused professional services environment.
You will likely possess:
- AITI / CTA qualification and/or ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Irish tax compliance and advisory.
- Strong knowledge of Irish Corporation Tax, VAT and Revenue compliance requirements.
- Broad tax experience gained within practice, industry or a professional services environment.
- Experience reviewing financial statements and supporting accounting-related matters.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to engage with clients and provide practical, commercially focused solutions.
- The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
