Michael Page Ireland opened its central Dublin office ten years ago this month and is on course to record its most profitable year to date.
We opened in October 2006, with a small team of specialists focussing on recruitment in the Finance sector. Today, we specialise in Finance, Financial Services, Funds and Banking Operations, Sales and Marketing along with a dedicated Executive Search Team. We work with well over 200 major clients, a figure rapidly increasing year-on-year, and have placed countless candidates in a wide variety of roles across our specialist sectors.
Our team boasts an average of over eight years’ experience per person. Many of our team add these years to time spent working within their specialist sectors, often in Dublin. Every one of our team is a true specialist in their field, dedicated to recruiting professionals into that sector and works hard to remain at the cutting edge of developments.
The team has been together through the economic downturn and remains strong as the economy turns around. Our experience, local knowledge and ability to provide a boutique style service with a global reach put us in a unique position in this market and we are now planning to expand our operations.
The global financial crisis hit Ireland particularly hard and businesses from start-ups and SMEs to corporate multi nationals felt the squeeze. Through this time we worked very closely with our clients and candidates alike, to ensure that their long-term career goals were met and that they not only survived the crisis but continued to perform and grow. Throughout this period we relied on our sector experience and knowledge of the Irish markets to guide many candidates through turbulent times and have forged close relationships along the way. We work with 75% of our clients year after year and have many relationships built on a decade of close collaboration.
Following two years of strong economic growth in 2014/15, Ireland is predicted to once again have the fastest growing economy in Europe through 2016 and 2017. Huge increases in Irish exports, buoyant consumer spending and capital investments jumping by 28% have all contributed to a very healthy outlook for the Irish economy. Those same candidates we helped to navigate the downturn are now well placed to benefit from the upturned economy and we remain in position to assist with career progression.
There are numerous large FMCG, technology and pharmaceutical companies investing in Ireland and setting up large European shared service centres here. This is not to mention strong financial and retail sectors and an exciting new breed of start-up and enterprise businesses coming to the city. There is an ever growing demand for talented individuals.
Throughout our time operating in Dublin we have built relationships with countless organisations and businesses in Ireland. This all means that we can offer an unparalleled service to our candidates, built on intimate local knowledge of the Irish market and an experienced, agile team, able to match every candidate with a role that meets their individual criteria.
Now ten years into our journey, we have come a long way. We are excited to see what the future of Michael Page Ireland has in store.
